What would a rough freight cost be for those 29" screens to melb?

And do you know will it fit into a sega new astro city with minimal fuss?

God i wish you were closer dorian......i'd swap some stuff for some stuff....lol

EDIT: I also want a neo multi cart, 8in1, #5 listed on ebay, the one with samsho V special.....since i can't find one anywhere on the planet that can send me a pic of the cart they have for sale....so i guess i will settle for a boot (much cheaper)

Hiya Gamedude

My first post here, so go gentle on me :039:

About your amps with pots, can you tell me what power rating they have? I want to know if they can drive, say, 2 x 15w/4 ohm speakers (wired in series to be 8 ohms) without freaking out.

Most arcade cab speakers are only rated at about 2-8 watts and 8 ohms impedance.

A higher wattage speaker can always run from a lower powered amplifier so it would be fine.

Yes they are pretty flexible, 8 ohm is standard but you can drive them at 4ohm as well with better cooling

HuH??? You being a smarty pants Elvis?? :lol Its a big ass screen alright!!!

GameDude
4th December 2007, 07:12 AM
OK I have attached some pictures...
29inch Monitor is Flat Screen, I also have fishbowl model as well same price.
Tubes are made in mexico and have been quite good for me so far, not one failure in over two years and no defects.
Chassis is Yatta ~ Standard 15Khz will do the job, very low failure rate given the fact that they are at the cheap end of the scale, I have only had two not work in over two years and they were easy fixes too :)
These tubes run very well with dual res chassis as well and I suggest contacting Joey for a compatible chassis.

Freight, As you can imagine these thing are not small, unless anyone has a better suggestion the best I can think of is to ship on a pallet and have the tube packed in the middle.
Brisbane CBD $50
Border Express costs for other CBD are as follows (no insurance).
Sydney $115
Melbourne $125
Adelaide $135
Perth $265
Now I may be wrong on these prices as I only find out after I send the unit what they charge but it should be pretty close..

If you have your own freight that does cheaper by all means use them and tell me :)

I've got one of these flatscreen 29" tubes in my Candy, and the quality is fantastic. Picture is crystal clear - no blur, no waviness, etc.

I bought it of GD just over a year ago, and I'm very pleased with it. I've seen some 29" tubes/chassis out of second hand cabs that are 5+ years old, and they were always blurry. I mistakenly thought that it was just what you got with big tubes, but that's definitely not the case with these. Very nice.

dmworking247
4th December 2007, 09:06 PM
Those tubes sound awesome... I would seriously consider replacing the 21" CRT with one of these (and an arcadeVGA) if only it fit in your plans Elvis (I built to those widths and have a 600mm wide cab). Damnit! :D

29" ... hmmmmm lightgun games.

600mm might *just* be short:

29 inch * 25.4 mm/inch * 4/5 (ratio of 4:3 screen width to diagonal, based on Pythagoras' 3:4:5 right-triangle) = 589mm.

That's tube size only. I'm not sure about the frame holding it on. I'll see if I can get a measurement when I'm in at GD next.

But yeah, I think the original design for my cab (ie: LuSiD's original design) was planned with a 26" monitor as max.

Looking at a Candy Cab if I can't source one S/H. Can anyone give me a bit of a comparison between the LS Sound 29" and the Megalo 29"? Both seem to have very similar specs / appearance. I guess I prefer the look of the Megalo because obviously its based on Sega cabinets that I've always loved.

Are there any key differences I should be aware of? Or just buy the one I tihnk looks smarter?

Firstly that model PSU will not turn on without a load attached to it (A game PCB for example) so make sure its attached first. If it still has no power then yes the Ming Dong PSU will be fine as a replacement...

Shipping would be around $12

I'm sorry for not calling, emailling and posting a question on a forum (all 3 if thats what it takes) to get an answer. I thought 1 might suffice.

FFS virgil maybe you should ask him and he'll give you an answer promtly just as he has after my last remark.

Forget it anyway, not interested anymore.

G'day Dorian,

New member here, hope you don't mind answering questions here?

I was looking at your Sanwa JLFs on your main shop, but noticed they weren't on the AA list - I'm guessing they're not available at a discount?

I also need a new keyboard encoder to replace a failing IPAC2. Is there anything I'd need to know before installing a Keywiz in its place? I'm hoping I can just disconnect the terminal strips on the IPAC and plug them right into the Keywiz. Does that sound reasonable?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,
John

Hi Xen

I think you need at least 30 posts under your belt for the members discounts mate.

xen
24th October 2009, 07:04 PM
Cheers Rod ;-)

Yep, I'd read that - just planning, hopefully I'll be there soon enough.

GD is a bit of a drive from where I live (Morningside) but it'd be great to have somewhere I can buy arcadey bits from without needing to order / wait for delivery :-)

Some items are not AA member prices because of the logistics... (I cant discount everything as no profit=no shop :) )
I usually list items for AA members discounts where I can shave a few bucks because of bulk buying....
I also try to have the best prices and if you find a better price for an in stock item of the same model from another seller I will match it...

I also like to see AA members have at least 30 posts that way its a benifit for the community as well as to stop one post wonder spammers who just want a discount.

As for your Keywiz question you should have no problems, I have never had a complaint with the KeyWiz

xen
25th October 2009, 08:12 PM
Thanks for the reply, Dorian.

Yeah I figured that might have been the case with the JLFs - I just had to ask, been lusting after one for way too long :-)

I completely understand about not offering discounts to new members, too. You're running a business after all, and I get the impression you do them out of a love of the community anyway ;-) FWIW I'm not a spammer, but I won't hit you up for any discounts until I've got more posts under my belt.

Re the Keywiz, a paperclip and some cunning placement today seem to have got my IPAC back into action :-) We'll see how it lasts - I can't see this being a permanent solution, somehow.

If I had the order # I could tell you now... At any rate Sunday payments usually show up Monday and the latest Tuesday if cleared the order is processed same day and sent out to dispatch to be picked and packed.... Usually sent same or next day of payment... Depending on the order and the speed of Aust Post you should have it anytime now...
