Well ain't that fair enough. I can insure stuff for crazy bucks but if it worth less they should pay only that. They just bother to confirm your valuation at insuring time, but if you're unsure, insure it for double or what ever and get what it's worth in the end. I dropped an item from $40k to $5k...

This is very true, but the sting in the tail is at payout time should it happen. Some (not all) insurance companies will ask you to verify replacements cost.
As an example I can insure my Crapadore for 20K agreed value even though it's worth maybe at best 5K and pay a huge premium. then when it's...

I wouldn't say that at all mate. I'm using your measurements for the files. I just wanted to make a way of easily getting it cut right and also making it easy for anyone else needing to do this. I don't trust myself enough to make it nice enough for this project. I'd end up with it looking like crap....

Am I missing something here. Ring your insurance company ask them what effect insuring the game for $5k will have on your premium. Then ask what if I insure it for $10k. I'm betting, from my experience, your premium will be lucky to go up by much. I doubt we're talking hundreds of dollars in extra...

Tough question because no matter what the insurance company always wins.
The more you insure it for the more the premium.
I suppose the real question is if I were to lose everything what is a dollar amount that I would be happy to receive? The short answer will be " Never Enough"....

Yeah - unfortunately I'm sure I messed up a ton in my 3d model in terms of making it exportable for any CNC cutting. I figure I'll just pencil in measurements and cut them with a jigsaw. Won't be as clean I suppose, but hopefully with some sanding it won't be too bad....
