Glenn70
Love the look of the Knocker, this is coming up a real treat Glen you should be very proud of the way this is looking. Sorry can't help with the the lights not working. were they working previously at all? Yes mate they were. I have spoken to @Skywalker (previous owner) and he has assisted me. We both think that it will be a loose wire on a connector or something every similar. Unfortunately these things happen when removing the playfield and unplugging the boards, etc. I will get to the bottom of it soon I hope as it's only a minor thing. At least I can play it, even if it's sitting on my trolley.

I think you may find that the power and ground wires are swapped in the machine for those particular lamps. DE have a habit of doing this randomly on feature lamps and flashers. Not an issue with incandescent lamps but often an issue with leds

Not an issue with incandescent lamps but often an issue with leds Chris, you are an absolute legend. I changed the globes over and whoooaaaa - we have lights!! I find it strange that every other lamp has an LED in it, including flashers. Like you stated, DE have a habit of doing it. Now, I owe you. When you are next in Melb (if at all), I will take you (and family) out for dinner and a beer. Or when I come to Adelaide for a quick getaway with the family (to really visit the best chocolate factory in the world in 'Haigs'), I will repay you then. Now all I need is the leg protectors - hopefully tomorrow. Thanks again, Glenn

Glenn70
No probs Glenn anytime. So did you swap the wires around? No, just put the old incandescent globes back in. If I swapped the wires around, the LED's would work? Just asking, that's all as I think I will just leave the old globes in.

Yeah I have done that in the past, then leds and lamps both work I have seen this heaps on Data East machines so far only on the lightboard and I think it it just a random thing, perhaps dependent on who the operator was on the production line. Glenn70
So here we go.............all complete. Just played a few games on her and very happy! Even the Mrs was impressed and snuck in a game (one of her balls even lasted longer than 20 secs!) Thanks to @robm for your metal leg protector advice re changing the screws to allow the leg to sit out a little from the cab. Thanks to @jono for our lengthy chat on applying decals (although I didn't end up using the wet method, I got heaps from your time lapse vid). Thanks to @Boots and @Turbo27 for taking my other decals. There maybe some kids fingerprints on the front shiny laminated decal but didn't wipe them down before the pics taken as had to rush before it got dark. In addition to what @Skywalker previously did, I have really just cleaned it up a bit and made it nice to look at. Put some rats on the playfield - one grey rat tail top left appearing a rat snuck into the back of the machine, a large black rat top right and three small rats middle right. Game plays very well with no faults or issues. I love the open playfield and bloody addicted to the 360 degree horizontal and 180 vertical ramps - they are awesome (I love ramps). Thanks @Skywalker for selling this game in the condition it was. I am very happy now with my additions: New 5 piece decal set on restored cabinet & headbox New 5mm toughened glass Powder coated rails, legs, lockdown bar & coin door Mirror blades Hand painted topper with custom 3mm red LED rats eyes Remote controlled colour changing 50cm LED strip in front of topper 3mm red LED eyes in knocker face New cliffy protector New apron cards New DE flipper bats New blue post sleeve rubbers 6 new balls Custom placed LED’s in headbox enhancing translite art Red Perspex DMD cover Some new plastics & rats in the playfield New metal leg protectors More completed pics coming............ - - - Updated - - - I just love the black decals. I know it's not original and the purists may not like it (and the mods) but I am really happy with how it turned out. Like I have said before, it was not a full rebuild restore like many other highly skilled blokes on here do but for $800 total spend including supplies (paint, putty, sand paper, etc), I am thrilled. Game plays perfectly (loving the shaker motor too). I now have my eye on another pin that will require the same treatment as TFTC. Only problem is my mate must take his STTNG out of my garage! The bloody game's ruleset is too complex for my little brain............ Thanks too all for reading.

Glenn70
Looks amazing Glenn - congrats. I look forward to seeing your next pin resto Thanks Brett, and ahhh yes, if I can somehow swindle or persuade the Mrs to allow a few more grand, I can get what I am after. Will know by the end of the weekend. At least she really enjoyed playing TFTC - that's a good step in the right direction. I just need the STTNG gone to allow more room, but working on that. Glenn70
Wow, great job. I love my tales from the crypt, but this puts my original one to shame. Thank heaps. It was not a big job as mostly cosmetic. I added some nice touches with mods and especially the black edition decals that came up better than I thought. @Skywalker had it working real nice when he sold it to me. I love playing it and fingers crossed, it doesn't give me any serious issues but playing 100% after some minor board work by someone with much more knowledge than me.
