Gotta love the bush engineering. Nothing to loose I say. Maybe a Gottlieb 24 volt coil would have been better or a Williams 28 volt one rather than a Bally 48 volt one.

I will say the original coil looks near identical to an Ice Ball release coil but they are 110 volt. Same cage/ plunger design though.

I'd say the pinball coils won't create enough strength though. Those open cage design coils create massive pull in power. Maybe something like a EM relay bank reset coil might be a better substitute if you can't locate an original.

I have a few coils from a Bally roadrunner coming from the states they looks so similar so fingers crossed they work. If not I'll try something else

The coil looks similar to a thud sounder one, like in Shoot The Duck, Shoot The bear.......not 100% but think they were 110V.

still thinking about the coil.....it looks similar to a 'latch' coil that is in my AMI juke.

.....as you can see stamped, 30V be much easier to get.....still thinking :)1250870198_JB1(15).thumb.JPG.f35281f05326e3dfbd6117cc09112c42.JPG

Yeah that one from the juke looks very similar aswell. I've got 3 of these coming from the USA which will hopefully do the trick if not ill try a Ami one

Geez that coil you need looks VERY similar to the coil used in the old Malleys washing machine.. I mean the real old ones with the massive gearbox, probably the same age as this machine. I have one of these coils in a box at work, not sure what voltage it would be, would the one for the game be DC or AC @ddstoys ?

24 volt relay with contacts driving common 240 or 110 volt coils.

Yeah many options if these don't work. But ideally keep it as original looking as possible

Well it’s only taken me 3 years and a pandemic to finally get me the time to start on the cabinet, I was planing a closed cabinet respray but when I got the paint out there may not be enough to do the whole unit, So I figured it atleast do the door the. After quarantine get some more and spray the cab if I don’t have enough,

I grew some balls and stripped the door and found some original paint that’s been covered since day one and wow just wow these games look like they were painted in candy apple red and the effort and quality of the build is amazing primer spray putty beautiful timber joinery. Damn I’d love to see a fully original one

OLEX brand from L&H maybe , but it's expensive and does have red printing on it

There is another brand TITANEX but instead of coloured wires they are numbered

Used the coloured 5 core for the gun stand to the gun and the numbered 7 core for the amp to the gun stand.

Glad to see this project back on the table. I've been following since day 1. The timber and workmanship on that stand is simply outstanding. It would be so tempting to clean it up and just clear coat. It is truly craftsmanship you rarely see now days from an era long gone. Thanks for bring it back Dan...

A little bit over half way through quarantine and progressing well I think I’m going to need to go back to work for a holiday Hahahaha

Got the front door in red sadly won’t be enough to paint the cabinet properly but hoping to atleast have enough to prep it’s and give it a light coat until I can get more paint,

Another big day not long left on my free time I mean quarantine sadly 😂😂

Got the cabinet all stripped primed and painted the last 2 days I was getting low on the red so I decided I’d use the remaining red from raceway for the base coat and the back atleast that was if the proper red ran out it would look ok until I’m able to make it to the paint shop.. Hahahaha well that failed

82a24c10c94bda154966a77bd8ad3c61.jpg

I thinner it down in the tim ready to spray picked up the tin and it just slipped out of my hand as anyone knows me know I lost my shit cursing and swearing and trying not to smash things 😂😂😂.

Luckily my neighbour heard my hissy fit and when I rang the paint shop and found out they were open he drove down and got me another litre what a legend,

The cabinet and door still need to be cut and polished at some stage if needed but atleast it’s at the stage I can put all the fragile bits back together

Here it is on it’s freshly chromed legs well if you call 3 years fresh 😂😂.

It now has the glass back in and some of the cardboard artwork one major piece of artwork left but it needs to be delicately cleaned before going back in good job for tomorrow while waiting for paint to dry

It’s a big bastard with the topper on I don’t think it will fit under the roller door
