BIG Trev
Hmm. Topper maybe?http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/03/12/b30abd1e96738a3a2013aad81c47ee81.jpg I'm sure I can make it light up and the dials move.
Gong Rob
Trev do you know where to buy the 90 Molex headers for the score boards?
BIG Trev
What's wrong with them? If they're just dirty clean them with some fine wet and dry paper. I bought a few from Radio Spares a while back but they were straight ones not the 90 degree ones. How many do you need? Trev

The only problem I've got with this is the needle is missing from the speedo and a replacement will cost almost as much as the rest of the dash. BIG Trev
I got off my arse and did a little on this machine today. I bolted the legs and coin door surround back on a the new credit button and the shooter beehive.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160529/ede557e4430987c680292ad222dad382.jpg I sprayed the front with spray and wipe and shat myself when the red started to smear all over it. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160529/17cccc47f03695f0a457412263b69cc8.jpg DON'T use spray and wipe on Hankin cabinets. I managed to save it, as I've mentioned before I don't do resprays. I'm crap at it. I've taken the rails off to clean the sides with soapy water, lesson learned. The playfield is still with @Savage and looking great so far. I received the @Homepin flipper coils from @Johns-Arcade and have fitted them in the mechanisms and they're looking nice. Great service all-round with these guys as usual. I still need to make some new links for the flippers. I spent half the day cleaning up the shed and moving the to do list arcade cabinets to the other side of the shed out if the work area and now I have room to move. Just the bench to tidy up now.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160529/0d434c727f9f69048e29d2a5e0870423.jpg[emoji4] Cheers Trev

BIG Trev
Looking so nice. Extra holes filled inserts and insert decals replaced and damage repaired. When I first saw this playfield when the machine was delivered I thought what have I done. Now I'm thinking this is going to be so nice. I'm so looking forward to seeing this back together and playing it.
BIG Trev
I couldn't find flipper links to match the ones used in the FJ and Orbit1 so I've bought some Gottlieb links and I'll cut them down and drill the second hole.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160531/46e5808310f3b05ba333cbc84ed3e1f0.jpg the links have to be long enough to hit the end of the mounting bracket at full stroke to stop the plunger coming out of the coil. toads
I remember doing the same. A lot of gottlieb mechs are similar to the hankins
Homepin
I remember doing the same. A lot of gottlieb mechs are similar to the hankins Yes they are, it's also why Hankin used the same blue glass in the displays as Gottlieb. Davin Hankin thought at the time (and still does) that Gottleib were the best so he followed their construction in many ways.
BIG Trev
The flipper mechs are getting a full rebuild with new end of stroke switches, nylon bushes, @Homepin coils with diodes and sleeves, new old stock flippers and new rubbers, of course, and all of the metalwork has been replated in zinc including the coil stop, crank, base and plunger. They should work like new ones. Trev

BIG Trev
I'm blown away by your skill @Savage . The playfield was just delivered along with some other goodies by @prowler express, needless to say I couldn't wait to unwrap it. It's a work of art. Just a couple of questions. What do you suggest I use to keep it clean and should I predrill the mounting holes for the playfield hardware? The last thing I want is it chipping when I screw bits back on. illawarra_steelers
i just had the same issue with what to do with a restored playfield that had been cleared..and yes drilled about 3/4 of the width of the posts etc that were going back on..did the trick no worries. with keeping the playfield clean just a slightly damp soft cloth. Cheers Trev If uncertain, then yes predrill, it's not necessary but always better safe than sorry. Cleaning as mentioned in another thread Mr Sheen, or a microfibre cloth. Now and then wax her up. Basically it's an automotive clear coat, so you can treat it like a car finish. Now I'm not so sure about Mr Sheen, if it contains Silicone I would keep away, only because silicone attracts dust, and I for one try to keep dust away from any moving parts if possible. Plus siicone is terrible when trying to paint / clear coat. Edited June 6, 2016 by Scotty T
BIG Trev
Slowly slowy. Taking my time putting the playfield back together. I had to file out the center hole for the pop bumpers to get the base to fit and drill out the two holes for the rod and ring assemblies but that's ok. It was just paint and clear coat that had run in the holes. It's to be expected. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160608/939b502cafa810eca881c5024f562d38.jpgI've never been so careful doing this before.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160608/15c7d3d4f402d347819bca1aaa9763cc.jpg All of the plastic parts, except for the printed plastics, are new as are all of the screws except for the old post screws. As you can't really see them. The stainless guides have been hit with some polish and wet and dry paper and the ball trough has been zinc plated. Time for a coffee. BIG Trev
I've got some small plastic washers that I'll put on the posts under the plastics and under the top edge of the apron. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160608/bff03edc4cec9d8c34acafbb34f5759d.jpgTime for lunch. Scotty T
Looking good, looking nice and minty fresh! I'm surprised about the holes, I dremeled the holes (which it too is nerve wracking, not wanting to slip)as the last thing to do (prior to cutting / buffing and waxing) Obviously needed some more. BIG Trev
It doesn't matter Scott @Savage I got them to fit and it looks great. The only thing I didn't realise was there is a broken screw in one of the holes, it's in front of the right hand spinner switch wire. I'm sure I can fix it without damaging the surface.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160609/370d8ef0ff186fadfbec1f0bcfd7f77f.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160608/6ce2c3ff733592d9053fe834c7911c48.jpgThat's it for today.
