RaspberryJAMMA is the best JAMMA MAME solution, only a PC bests it but they're not JAMMA. But I'm biased because I make it (it's true though).

The FPGA hardware recreations like JROKs multi Williams board are the best JAMMA multiboards in my opinion though, real hardware is better/more interesting/cooler than MAME.

As far as popularity and price goes the 60in1 is king.

I mean like do you have to put the roms on it? Hows this different to an emulator?

The "multiboards" are supplied with ROMs (yes, not technically legal I know).

Boards like the "Pi" do not come with ROMs - you must add them.

These ARE emulators BUT THE HUGE DIFFERENCE is that they are "embedded" designs and NOT PC's running emulation.

FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR more reliable and FAR easier for a novice to set up.

I prefer Pi.

You can run any emulator you want, pick your own roms and customise the front end any way you like.

240p out of the Pi is very nice. No screen tearing which plagues most multiboards as 1) they're primarily designed for an lcd screen and 2) have shitty emulator configurations.
