StevOz
just noticed in the who's on line section Yahoo! Slurp (1), Google (1) assuming these are what you call spiders - but what is a spider :unsure Online bots or programs with internet access that gather information on a site, so a google spider will collect information on recent posts and when you search google for say MAME arcade machine a link will appear in google somewhere on the list, maybe several pages in depending on it's relevance, number of hits, etc. These spiders can be blocked or allowed depending on site admin policies/settings.
