Wiring in LAI cabinet

Question

Hi All,

I am new to the whole arcade machine restoring/repairing, and working on getting a SFII cabinet up and running, but to be honest its a whole new experience to me, and I am going up against a steep learning curve :)

All the jamma connectors and power goes into a control box of some sort, so I am trying to work how it all works and what it does... attached is a screenshot of the control box (im sure this isnt the right name for it, feel free to correct me)

I have labelled all the items on the photo, and trying to work it all out:

A: Goes to the marquee light

B: Goes to the transformer

C: Mains power in

D: Not sure - I *think* monitor/credit display connector. It seems the monitor connector has been cut off as there is no plug on the end, but the following loose coloured cables: Red, Blue, Green, Black, Grey, White.

E: Not sure - Might be power for the monitor?

F: Speakers

G: Connects to transformer

H: Not sure

I: Plug for buttons/joysticks

J: Plug for buttons/joysticks

K: Plug for buttons/joysticks

If someone can help me out with what D, E, and H are for it would greatly help me on my way.

If anyone can give me a hand with what is what, it would be appreciated. Then I can start sorting out trying to find a screen for this thing :)

Thanks,

Mark

I would say that "H " is monitor power "E" is for a 240v fan and "D" is your signal to the monitor but the best way to check would be to pull the lid off the box and check the wires for the monitor signal back from the jamma plug

RIGHT, I checked my LAI G/Tee2K cab today, which has the same distribution box in it.

(though mine has a JAMMA connector where your wires come out)

D - Monitor R,G,B, Sync, Etc.

E - Monitor 110/240v Supply

..^

/ O \ 110v

| O | 240v

| O | Earth

| O | Neutral

-----

H - Auxillary Power Out +5, +12 & Gnd

THanks to everyone that replied... the cabinet is at my sisters place, so only get to go there on the weekend. Will be looking at it more this weekend and hopefully with the info I have been given I will work it out :)

If not, i will get some more photos, and also remove the cover off the distribution box so that I can track the cables better.

Thanks!
