driving cabinet multi game boards or other?

Mr Pubstuff

Question

hi guys, im thinking i'd love to add a driving cabinet to the collection.

can a cabinet be set up to be able to have several boards in them so as to be able to play more than one game (ie: this machine on ebay ) to be able to play other games like ridgeracer or daytona etc via a switch or similar or would it need to physically have to open the cabinet and physically swap boards?

do people mame cabinets like this using all the original equipment if thats an option? sorry for probably is a stupid question/s, but it would be neat to be able to have some or many different driving games in one cabinet with force feedback wheels all as original etc.

I've been looking into something similar recently... I'm going to be using original arcade spinners, arcade trackballs and steering wheels interfacing with a PC. In my case I'm going to dual-wire everything so it can be used for Jamma OR Mame.

It can be done, but you'll need to do a little bit of wire splicing/soldering. MAME is a better option if you want a large variety of games without swapping out the PCBs.

would you want to use an arcade monitor or a computer monitor?

hey dmworking, i guess if i bought a cabinet with working arcade monitors in them already, id prob leave them for originality, but if they were missing or dodgy i guess id like as large a tv lcd or something. money may mean i'd have to use computer monitors tho.

its getting the original steering and pedals etc to work correctly prob more than anything and to see if someone has done something like this in mame or multiboard successfully. ive only just got my head around mame to some degree, so this is a daunting thought for me at least.

narf, im more than interested in if you get yours 100% happy with original steering (with feedback i assume?), can you keep us updated please, i cant imagine anything better than being able to switch around tracks as you want (well many things better, but not referring to an arcade machine hehe)
